ChrisI mentioned on another thread that I was thinking of a build to use an outboard motor that had originally been planned for my Fairey Faun before I decided to go inboard with it. The motor is only small, equating to a scale of approx. 1:12, and not very powerful so needs a model about the same size as the Faun which is 16.5 inches long.

Harry/Canabus sent me some drawings, must be years ago now, of a rare model that came to light when someone was asking to identify a model on another forum. This model is the Sea Vixen and was kitted by Modav. At the time I could find nothing on the internet and in fact it is the only other Modav model that I know of apart from the Huntsman 31 kit which went on to be produced by Precedent etc. So there is a link which is nice to have.

The Sea Vixen is a nice size at 25 inches and would be ideal on our club lake but it is too big for the outboard I'm going to use - that's assuming they do work (I have a choice of two) as I haven't tried a battery on them yet. It is a similar design to other models like the Sea Scout and even the Faun, though that is a round hull rather than chine. Being a kit drawing, as is often the case it doesn't have the frames etc. drawn up, so those as well as other parts will have to produced as well as reducing it in size and modifying it to suit the outboard.

It is a simple and straightforward design (well apart from the outboard! part) so should be a relatively quick build if simply just painted and little detail added. Early days, as still dealing with other projects, and as said it's got to be drawn up first.
