My models range from 20” to 30” BUT not because of poor health, the models of this size take less space in the storage shelves, are easier to launch and transport.

@zooma +My Classic Model Power Boats are seldom more than a metre long and they can all be safely lifted in and out of my car and launched much more easily.

I enjoy recreating the models that I used to see every week back in the late 1950’s onwards, so working with these Classic Model Power Boats is not really a handicap for me in any case.+

Try an EezEBilt Sea Princess. Half-size model of a Sea Queen, so 23" long, and weighs less than 2lb with batteries in sailing condition. See http://eezebilt.uk/Seaprincess.html Here's a video of one sailing (maiden voyage) at so you can get an idea of the speed and handling...

    Hi Pat,

I sold my various fishing boats and tugs several years ago as they were getting too heavy for me to launch as I got older.

I really enjoyed them, but they needed so much ballast to get them down to a scale like water line that they all become so much heavier than the Classic Model Power Boats that I enjoy building, restoring, and driving now.

I look forward to seeing you at the Southport Club lake in the future, and I would be happy to help you launch or recover any of your new fleet of smaller boats anytime you need a hand with them.

    Bob.
